A Collection of Smoothie Recipes

As I’m sitting here in my home office writing my blog, I’m staring out the window at the snow. It’s really coming down out there! Makes me happy to be in here nice and warm with Felix the three-legged wonder cat! It’s not the time of year that people usually think about dieting. That’s an activity normally reserved for the new year.

Knowing that this is the time of year when most people tend to overdo it, I thought I’d share some more smoothie recipes with you. You can incorporate these delicious, healthy, vitamin-packed treats into your day, especially when you’ve had one too many cookies!

Try a smoothie for breakfast (especially if you have trouble eating a substantial solid meal), replace a fast food lunch with one of these concoctions, or make one to take on the road with you on your way to the gym when you don’t have time for dinner.

And remember, it’s the holidays, if you want to indulge a little, go ahead. A LITTLE! Eat what you really want, but try not to overdo it!

Creamy Blueberry Shake

1/2 cup shredded coconut

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

2 dates, pitted, or agave nectar to taste

1 cup coconut milk, or milk of your choice

1/4 cup almond butter, or nut butter of your choice

1 tsp chia seeds

Blend and enjoy!

Mango and Coconut Shake

1 cup mango chunks, fresh or frozen

1/2 cup pineapple chunks, fresh, frozen, or canned

1 1/2 cups coconut milk

1 tsp agave nectar

Blend and enjoy!

Almond Butter and Cardamom Refresher

1/4 cup almond butter

1 tsp ground cardamom

1 cup coconut milk, or milk of your choice

1/2 cup water

1 cup frozen peaches

1 tsp agave nectar, or honey

Blend and enjoy!

Blueberry, Cocoa, and Coconut Milk Shake

1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen

2 tsp cacao powder

1 1/2 cups coconut milk, or milk of your choice

1 tsp agave nectar or honey

1/2 cup of ice

Blend and enjoy! *But a warning…this shake comes out in a lovely battleship grey color. Please do not let the look discourage you! The blueberry and the cacao powder don’t look very appetizing together, but this shake is THE BOMB! And loaded with nutrients including magnesium, and is high in antioxidants!
